About our Home
The house was built in the 1870’s for John P. Sullivan, a prominent merchant and farmer in the village of St. Peters Bay.
It is characterized as being influenced by Second Empire architectural styles which include the dominant mansard roof with dormers. In 1915 the home became the Manse for the adjacent Presbyterian (now United) church, until the early 1960’s. The front parlour in the house was a favorite spot for many couples to be married in. Since the late 1990’s it has operated as a Bed and Breakfast welcoming guests from around the world. Points East Coastal Inn is a provincially registered Heritage Place.

His background also includes Facility and Health & Safety Management, Construction Management, contracting and home renovations. Rodger has four children – Taylor, Melissa, Ainsley and Zoe, and is proud Opa to Nash, Adaline & Grace.
Sarah is one of four children, with British heritage, whose parents emigrated from England in 1965. Sarah has spent her work years in hospitality after studying at the School of Hotel and Food Administration at the University of Guelph, then partnered to open a popular restaurant and catering company in 1990 that was featured on The Food Network’s ‘You Gotta Eat Here’ . In 2010 she transitioned into weddings and events, opening a party and event rental company servicing dozens of events each week! Sarah has four amazing sons, Ray, Blake, Austin and Jamie, and joyfully welcomed grandaughters Scarlett and Parker in 2023!
Together, Rodger and Sarah look forward to embracing PEI ‘s ‘island way of life’, and St. Peters Bay as their new hometown, and welcoming you into their new home – POINTS EAST COASTAL INN.
Testimonials
Had a fantastic five night stay at Points East while doing segments of the Island Walk. Wonderful food, baked goods and desserts. Rodger & Sarah are knowledgeable, kind and welcoming hosts. They gave us excellent recommendations for activities and helped coordinate e-bike rentals to visit Greenwich national park and kayak rental for a lovely trip down the Morell River. Would be delighted to return and highly recommend!

We just can’t say enough about Rodger and Sarah’s lovely Inn. The history and beauty, the incredible rooms & view, the location, the attention to detail, the responsiveness, and the absolutely incredible home cooked food served in the most lovely dining area. Thank you Rodger and Sarah for hands down our best accommodation experience (among other great experiences) of our cycling trip on the island Inn
– September 2025. Very best wishes 🙏 Bill & Veronica.
One of the best b & b ‘s we have ever experienced. Sarah and Rodger were amazing hosts. Gorgeous waterfront location , right on the trail. As cyclists we were so pleased to find a special location to safely store our bikes.
We arrived on a cool windy morning and were immediately met with the hospitable offer of coffee and tea. From that moment forward – everything was attended to with TLC. Our meals were beautifully prepared and presented. The warm and quiet ambiance of the house was much appreciated.
Thank you Sarah and Rodger. – RUTHANN, OCTOBER 2024
Wonderful experience !!
By far, the most atmospheric place to lay your head is the Points East Coastal Inn, where a wide, inviting porch offers picture-perfect sunsets, and the owners readily cater to the needs of their guests, including cyclists and walkers. (You’ll find a new bike shed complete with tools, an air pump, hand wipes, and much more.) Choose the second-floor St. Peters Suite where you can soak your sore muscles in the clawfoot tub with epsom salts. All the amenities make it difficult to leave this inn, including the exceptional breakfasts. (And if you can’t finish the homemade raspberry muffins, they’ll encourage you to pack it up to take on the road)

‘Not to be missed’. The Inn is perfect. The hosts are better. Rodger & Sarah are kind and informative and great cooks. The spaces to lounge in are perfect, like you are in a dream – and the rooms are spacious and well appointed. You will not be disappointed. Get the Eggs Benedict and save room for Sarah’s muffins!
